JOYCE, JAMES CASEY 24, Plano, Sgt. US ARMY, B Company, 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, out of Fort Benning, Georgia. Killed in action as he attempted to save the life of one of his fellow soldiers, 3 Oct. 1993. The story of the mission is told in the book and movie "Black Hawk Down." Buried at Arlington National Cemetery

HAYES, JACOB D. 24, Allen & Plano, Lance/Corporal US MARINE CORPS, Kilo Company, 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division. Born 28 July, 1984, died 17 December 2008 as a result of injuries received in Iraq. Buried at Ridgeview Memorial Park.

AFGHANISTAN
COURCY, PETER JOHN 22, Frisco, Cpl. US ARMY, D Company, 506th Infantry, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, died on 10 February, 2009 from wounds suffered when his vehicle struck by a car bomb in Salerno, Afghanistan.
KUWAIT
MATTHEW R. COURTOIS, 22, of Lucas, Senior Airman US AIR FORCE, 366th Security Forces Squadron, Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho, died 20 September, 2009 as a result of a non-hostile incident on Abdullah Al Mubarak Airbase, Kuwait.
